Sat, 17 November 2007 Hi everyone, this is Don Lewis your host of the big break music podcast. Well contrary to what you may have thought, the big break podcast has NOT pod-faded or gone away but is alive and kicking. As most of you probably know by now, my wife of 32 years was diagnosed with sinus cancer in January of this year. She fought a strong battle along with some of the best doctors in the country but finally lost the battle in early October. Even during her struggle with this terrible disease, she supported and encouraged me to keep my podcast going, knowing how much music means to me. She enjoyed talking with many of the musicians we have met through the podcast and they have fond memories as well. Throughout this time I have continued to produce the podcast, although only my audience on internet radio station KCOR, Kansas City Online Radio have been able to hear the show. I was able to find time to do the shows, but finding time to update the show notes on all of the different websites was difficult. For those of you that visited the big break website were aware of this fact. But those of you who are subscribers to the show through itunes, you have not received any downloads since show # 78, which was released on september 8th. Well let me tell you that things are going to really change very shortly. I am currently working with Dave Jackson and others to completely revamp our website and will be bringing you exciting new content and shows. My goal is to have what I am calling the big break, version 2.0 ready in just a few weeks. In the meantime, I have updated our current website to allow you to download or listen to all of the shows that have been produced since September. I am also working on getting my iTunes subscription RSS feed corrected as well. This message is being sent out from my different server locations in hopes that you will know what is going on. In the meantime you can always visit out website at www.thebigbreakpodcast.com to get the latest news. Hopefully you will not have to do anything on your end when the new website goes online. To all my faithful listeners, musicians and fellow podcasters that have become part of my extended I thank you for your patience and understanding during the past year. So hop on over to thebigbreakpodcast.com and check out the new shows and soon a whole new way of discovering great new independent music. So I am going go leave you with one of the great tracks from a recent show to give you a taste of what you have been missing. The name of the group is Reverend Zen and the song is called Dangerous Times from their album Angels, Blues And The Crying Moon. Take care and talk to you again real soon. Comments[0] |
Sun, 9 September 2007 Thanks for checking out our weekly music podcast, The Big Break. Here we present some of the best music from unsigned and independent label artists from around the world.
